Recreation in the O'Fallon/Shiloh area is varied and broad.

A 15 screen Wehrenberg Cinema, and dozens of restaurants are available, (see www.wehrenberg.com).

The "Visitor's Map" (provided on this site and in our office), of O'Fallon/Shiloh, shows dozens of restaurants and their locations. (And it points to Fairview Heights, where a 100 more restaurants are available of all types and sizes.)

The City of O'Fallon Parks & Recreation Department offers pavilions located in various parks for the use of the general public. Reservations must be made in advance at the Park Office in the Katy Cavins Community Center Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

      It shall be unlawful for any person to be on, in or about Community Park, Hesse Park and the Sport Parks between 11:00 p.m. and dawn from April 1 through October 31 unless such person is attending a permitted function authorized by the City.

O'Fallon Community Park
401 E 5th
40 acres located in the heart of the city. Facilities include the Katy Cavins Community Center, Memorial swimming pool, six ball diamonds (two lighted), four lighted tennis courts, lighted basketball court, two playgrounds, kitchen facilities, four pavilions, horseshoe pit, restroom facilities and log cabin leased by the local Grange.
Hesse Park
110 Hesse Way
22 acres located in the northern portion of the city. Facilities include four ball diamonds (one lighted), three soccer fields, two basketball courts, in-line skating rink, two picnic shelters, two playgrounds, and restroom facilities.

Junior High Bike trail is located on the east side of the park. This trail is just under a mile round trip. It offers a tree canapy just right for walking or biking.
Rock Springs Park

109 acres located in the southeastern portion of the city. This new park contains over 2 miles of nature/hiking trails, picnic areas, a pavilion, restroom facilities, and natural areas.
Thoman Park

O’Fallon’s newest neighborhood park, Thoman Park, is located off of Nancy Ave. behind the O’Fallon Public Library. This park offers a new children’s playground, a short walking path, and a beautiful pavilion good for picnics and other neighborhood events.
St. Ellen Mine Park

St. Ellen Mine Park is actually a St. Clair county owned park. This 85 acre park features a 1.2 mile walking path as well as a half-mile bike trail. There is also a small lake that may be used for fishing and has boat access. Boats with motors larger than a trolling motor are not allowed on the lake. The city of O’Fallon works with the county to provide maintenance to the park. Any questions about rules or the fishing ramp should be directed to St. Clair County Intergovernmental Grants Department at 618-277-6790.
O'Fallon Family Sports Park

O'Fallon's newest Park, the Family Sports Park, is located at the corner of Obernuefemann and State St. With over 200 acres, the park features 2 picnic pavilions, a playground, walking trails, concession stands, and 4 baseball and softball fields, with much more to come.
O'Fallon Memorial Pool
  • Opens Memorial day weekend from 1pm until 8:15 pm daily.  Season passes and swimming lessons are available.  Free senior citizen swim time is 12 pm to 1 pm Mon - Fri. 
  • O'Fallon Residents only

Concerts in the Park
  • Concerts begin in early June and run through mid-August.  They are held on Wednesday nights at 8 pm in the Community Park Pavilion.
Baseball Program
  • Baseball programs are established for 6 age groups from 9 to 18 years old.  The program runs from late May to the end of July.

Girls Softball Program
  • The program runs from late May to the end of July.  Three divisions are formed for girls in grades 3 to graduating senior.


Tennis Program

  • Tennis instruction for most age groups runs for 6 weeks each summer.

Sports enthusiasts will find golf, bowling, indoor tennis, fitness facilities, indoor softball, gymnastics, soccer and indoor batting cages, available nearby.

On top of all that, recreational opportunities abound in nearby cities, including Fairview heights, Belleville and of course, St. Louis itself, all available within minutes by great highways and the Metro-Link.
